Hello Cloudray forum
I recently replaced the X and Y stepper drivers on my 80W CO2 laser with two new DM556S drivers.
My setup:
- Controller: Ruida RDC6442S-B
- Motors: 57BHH51-280A-25C (2.8A)
- Driver settings:
- 5000 pulses/rev
- 3.2A Peak / 2.3A RMS
- Engraving speed: 300 mm/s
- Power: 15%
- Line interval: 0.10 mm
After installing the DM556S drivers I noticed ghosting/ringing during engraving.
To troubleshoot, I:
- Replaced the drivers
- Checked all mechanical components
- Verified that the machine is mechanically square
The interesting part is that when I reinstall the original M542C drivers with the same machine settings, the ghosting disappears completely.
Because of this, I suspect there may be a configuration difference between the DM556S and M542C, even though both are set to 5000 pulses/rev.
Do you have any recommendations regarding:
- Current settings
- Microstep settings
- Anti-resonance settings
- Ruida compatibility
- Acceleration settings
that could explain why the DM556S produces ghosting while the M542C does not?
Thank you for your help.
Best regards,
Jarle
