# Focal dot and laser lined up not engraving

I have ezcad2 and a boss fiber laser. The laser and dot are lined up and it kind of fires but its barely engraving. i have my hatches right and power and speed. My parameters are set according to my machine. I dont know whats going on with it. Any tips? i know its getting enough power and its brand new. ive used only a few times. i us it to engrave on stainless steel metal tags. nothing crazy just simple stuff. when i rotate the dots apart a litte bit it works just fine. Not sure whats going on.
